Warriors Don't Cry

Granville Students and Parents ticket is only $5.00.  The show is on Tuesday, January 29 at 10:00 a.m.  The $5.00 is due by the next class on January 8th.

Warriors Don’t Cry is a one-woman play adapted verbatim from the Little Rock Nine memoir of the same name by Melba Pattillo Beals who integrated Central High School in 1957.  The inspiring performance chronicles the arduous and violent year in which nine black students risked their lives in pursuit of a good education.  In the post-show Q&A, students explore themes of bullying, hate speech, and other issues of contemporary relevance.

This show uses strong, historically accurate language, including the “n” word.

Grades 7+
Curriculum connections: social studies, character education, language arts, history
